Folding Camping Table

One of the most-needed and useful items of camp furniture is a folding camping table. It can be used for food preparation of your camp meals, and as a dining table when you are ready to eat those meals.

And when not being used for food, a camping folding table works very well as a desk to hold books or paperwork, as well as the inevitable mugs of coffee, tea or hot chocolate (or cocoa).

The best portable camping tables will be found in a specialist camping store or outfitters. You will pay a little more, but those better stores will have experienced knowledgeable staff who will be able to give you sensible advice. And, what's more, they won't knowingly stock any poor quality camping furniture.

What you eventually decide on for your camping folding table depends on the storage space you have at home and on the carrying capacity of your car, van or truck. Some of the cheapest folding camp tables are those all-in-one picnic tables with 4 stools built in. The item is a square plastic table with aluminium legs that fold and store inside the table when it folds in two. I have seen them colored light blue or bright red, though stores in your area may have ordered them differently.

The tiny stools you are supposed to sit on with these cheap picnic tables are attached to the folding aluminium table legs. And they too fold up inside the folded table - two stools inside each half. While these collapsible picnic tables are relatively cheap and they last quite well, the seating area is small and uncomfortable for most adults. Kids will have no problem unless they are very large.

The Coleman camping tables are both good and popular. Some folding tables by are even designed as a kitchen workbench, and incorporate a plastic bowl or sink, where you can peel vegetables or do your washing up after the meal without having to bend over. How civilized!
